Test this on one of the folders giving you a problem.

First go to Folder Options > View and check "show hidden files"; then for the test period, UNcheck "hide protected system files".

Also check for this test, "do not cache thumbnails"

Now go to one of these folders and look for a "thumbs.db" file and either delete it or rename it thumbs.bak

If you are using a 3rd party image program that has a thumbnail cache you will need to disable its thumbnail caching.

For example if you have Photoshop:

1. right-click on file
2. properties
3. photoshop image tab
4. uncheck generate thumbnails
