For what it's worth, I have an original Epson Stylus Color inkjet, and it seems to me that all of my cartridges, when I've replaced one and actually looked closely, have "made in Japan" printed on them, or on the box.
So, hopefully, the location of origin won't make a difference... I've never heard of region coding for ink cartridges...
