Hello Megabite - followed all the instructions (I have firefox) - everything looked good until i tried to open another tab...and then it opened up onto a babylon search page. I'm going to go check out my internet options area, possibly i can catch it there - but any ideas?

Hello zbd21,

I tried Revo Uninstaller, but unfortunately, whenever I try to open up a new tab on my browser (firefox) I still get Babylon Search. I think the main problem is because my Windows is connected via I.E. - is there anyway to change this? Even though my default browser is also firefox, when I go check out my unused I.E. browser, it has the default search listed as Babylon Search - and for some reason, I can't change this. help!

I have the same problem. Downloaded by mistake. uninstalled it from my programs, still there. It's a tracking device so I need to get rid of it too.

Happily, I think I've gotten rid of babylon completely, first I did about:config on my ff browser, (type in babylon at the top search bar) which then enabled me to reset all the babylon extensions and change any of the other links where babylon was not in the name to another search engine (i.e. google). The main issue was that my windows is through IE - which although I never use, when I went to check on it, had babylon as the default with no obvious way to change this, so I went to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...f-c56665530ccc which is also the way to change/delete any babylon from my IE browser. I think I can mark this as solved now

Not a problem....so I get you have the same issue? Can you tell me what browser do you have? I really know firefox, but i previously used chrome. When you open your browser do you see your normal homepage or babylon? Have you gone to add/remove programs and deleted babylon, as well as to your extensions page and deleted any there? Go to this page if you have firefox (ff) and scroll down until you come to an entry by BriCal49 (although he forgot to mention that any firefox entries that contain values to babylon and are a URL simply right click it - (at the top of a small list that shows up is modify...or something very similar, click this and then change the search engine to one you like, like google.com). These entries that I just mentioned will Not have babylon in the name at all. here's that link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/qu.../746530?page=1 Write back when you can, and don't be afraid to ask questions

didn't see your first message! Do you have Windows Internet Explorer? I think you still should do the mozilla/firefox link first (assuming you have ff), afterwards, back up your files (all programs->accessories->system tools->system restore->create a restore point-> (then next, and they lead you on from there) - a very simple way to back things up, then go to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...f-c56665530ccc and follow the instructions at the top (by the way, for each \ you click a different category (for instance, in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main, first you click Software, then you scroll down in software until you come to Microsoft, then IE, then Main) follow the instructions, if you don't see something that is listed, pass on to the next part - don't guess!

I am using FF now because my MSN has stopped working. Another nightmare. Can't use IE either. Stops working. Who knew?! Sheesh! When I open FF, Babylon opens up as browser. I have deleted Bab from every possible place except the right one. I ran Spybot that identified Babylon as a threat and removed it. Voila! Logged back onto FF and there it is! Babylon is baaccckk! I will try the link you posted above.
TYVM!
