Solved: Firefox is crashing, suggestions?
3 days ago a Firefox popup said I needed a update. I closed it because i was busy, I clicked the x and crash.
Thought whatever restart, 15 minutes later Firefox is screwing up very noticeable and just becomes unresponsive and crashes.
Every 15-30 minutes I am visiting websites firefox will start doing weird stuff and eventually crashing.

Examples-
youtube is all black and has 3 videos playing side by side.
clicking one tab and it opens another.
unresponsive.
Just keeps "finding" the webpage (thing spinning).

Things I've tried. Uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, restarting computer, and firefox updater.

Suggestions please?

Every browser is rushing to bring out new versions, but never correct the problems on the existing ones. I have tried them all, but still end up going back to FFox.3.8 and I never have any probs....

You are using a version that is no longer supported.
I had trouble with some of the later versions ( after 12)

Try FF 12

Good luck

Hope others answer your other questions.

-_-

lol well I tried version 12 and the home page says "your browser is out of date!". Kinda laughed at that. Well I'll come back in a few days and see if it crashed or not.

Thank you for the link though.

The current version is 15.

Start Firefox in safe mode.

The reason I went to FF 12 is because FF15 caused the Google links in the sidebar as well as the Google search bar to crash FF.

I tried it in Safe Mode as well -hated it.

FF12 is stable.

I've had no problems since reverting to FF12.
15,at least for me, was terrible.

Hope you are happy as well.

You're not supposed to like running Firefox in safe mode. If it runs fine in safe mode, that means an add-on is causing the crash.

You're not going to be able to stay at an old version. Firefox updates itself. And you definitely want to keep your browser current to avoid security problems.

It can't be the add-on because I've had the same add-ons for months and fire fox was fine. It started when I canceled a update. The version he linked me to works fine. No crash yet.

See, that's the problem.
As I stated already. FF15, Would Not Run properly in Safe Mode, if I wanted to use Google search or links from Sidebar.

With all add-ons disabled, it still crashed.

FF 12 is perfect.

Still crashing. It's happening less now though. I've noticed that firefox uses 2 gigs of my ram before crashing. So...whats it doing?...

It's normal when i start it. Uses a few MB or whatever and starts freezing, I check the ram and 2 gigs of ram is being used...Feel the crash coming. More help?

I suggest the possibility there is more going on than the browser you are using. Perhaps it would be productive if you would do the following.

1. Post your system specs using the TSG system Info tool.

2. Have you tried using Internet Explorer. If so, how does it work?

3. Have you ran AV and Spyware scans?

I'd definitely suspect an add-on. Flash is the most likely culprit.

Start by testing Firefox in Safe Mode.

Make sure you have the very latest Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265. Just untick the offer to install Chrome.

I would first remove your version of Flash, whatever it is, with the Flash Uninstaller.
