Kazaa Lite won't open
A while ago I installed Kazaa Lite 2.1.0 K++2.0.3 on my computer. For a day or 2 it works fine, then all of a sudden when I try to open it this message pops up:

PE SHIELD: HEURIUSIC VIRUS ALERT
File was altered or may be infected with a virus

Once I reinstall Kazaa Lite it works fine, but only for a day or 2. Ive tried downloading the kazaa lite program from other sites and have totally wiped out my hd and started over, same probem occurs.

SPECS:
WIN XP HOME
SONY VAIO
512 MB RAM
2.4 GHZ
80 GIG HD

Why don't you try installing regular Kazaa from their website: www.kazaa.com I have been using the lastest version and it works fine for me. Although I see you are using XP and that could be the problem. I just got rid of XP and replaced it with 2000, now all problems are gone (and there were a lot), although the latest version of Kazaa is suposed to be fine with XP so I would try that first. Good luck

I use the one on http://www.k-lite.tk/ and I've never had a problem. The message you recieved was your AV telling you it detected K-Lite as having a virus, did you ever track down the virus or make sure it was gone?

same PRoblem
HEY !
I exactly got the same problem...but i think i know, what it is ..
i downloaded a version of"windows blinds" from kazaa, doubleclicked the setup to start, but NOTHING happened, besides the file windowblinds appearing in the task list of task manager, so i rebooted, wanted to start kazaa lite , and since then this message appears, besides, this strange prcess entered a registry entry in the winlogon section, where it tries to run the shell" explorer" in the context of system32.exe , this also cused an error message during startup, i correctd the registry, so this error is gone, but still, kazaa lite wont start, no matter how often i reinstall.
What i did more i searched ALL the files on my HD for the textstring in the error box - nothing
the registry - nothing
any strange services running - nothing
any strange processes - nothing
so WHAT the hell could this be ?
I think the vendor of window blinds hired some really clever crackers to implement some kind of "destroy ware" into faked programs ... a new weapon agianst filesharing of proggies ?
I would appreciate any help, idea or whatever to solve this problem
otherwise ill have to reinstall - last time it took me 2 whole days :-)

P.S. I have another process not running anymore since i have this probelm - jellyfish, i simple exe process, that launches some dat files, crashes during startup
