floppy boot record
hi! i used my floppy on a friend's pc that had virus scan. it detected a virus on my floppy's boot record and i had it cleaned. immediately after cleaning, i could not anymore access my floppy disk. any ideas on how i can recover my files on the floppy? another friend suggested Norton Disk Doctor, but i don't know where i can get that.

To start, put the floppy in and open My Computer, right click on the floppy, select Tools, and do a check. It may repair it, it's similar to what Disk Doctor would be doing.

the floppy is not a windows startup disk. i tried the checking the disk but the sytem wouldnt recognize it. everytime i try and access the disk, the system thinks it's a non-formatted disk and asks me to format it first.

I suspect those files are gone to file heaven.

Try reading this article and download the utility they recommend called File Scavenger.
