How come when I asked advise on Kazaalite and downloading music, I was made to feel like a criminal, and yet some of you reccomend it to others. I don't get it. Read my post above and the answers. Am I missing something? Maybe I didn't ask the right question? How can you guys reccomend downloading MP3s to some and tell me how wrong it is? Just wondering!!! | | Distinguished Member with 46,429 posts. | | Join Date: Jul 2002 Location: Thomasville NC Experience: 100% Geek |

#18 | P2P filesharing networks are not illegal however the sharing of right protected software, music and movies through these networks is. In your second post in that thread (which I see has now been deleted) you asked for help with a movie that you had downloaded from Kazaa. It is against TSG rules to help with pirated movies etc...

#19 | Thanks, yes I deleted the second message because I mentioned that I had downloaded a movie and I felt it was better getting rid of that post. I didn't know it was illegal to download the movie at the time I did. I am new at this file sharing thing, and for that reason I came here for answers.
I really don't know what p2p means, and can't figure out yet what's legal and what's not, but I am going to educate myself so that I don't get in trouble.
Now my question, can I download from Kazaalite or not? Someone told me if I keep the sharing folder empty than I am okay. I really don't know. I don't even care for all this modern music. The music I like is old Italian folk songs and the artists have died long ago..................

#22 | Kazaalite is the way to go. No spyware or adware comes with the program. Easy to use. Dont worry if some people make you feel like a criminal for using this program. MILLIONS USE IT!!! If it's just for your home use dont give it another thought. | | Member with 31 posts. | | |

LOL, Can't win today. Anyway, that's what I was told by someone, and you're right, can't share an empty folder. Even I know that. But like I said, I am learning as I go along, and for that reason I am asking lots of questions.
I guess from here on I am going to use my better judgment and see what happens.......thanks for the feedback....
P.S.
Thank you Chaltun for your post. I feel better already!!!

#25 | This seems to be a topic of alot of debate: but let me put and end to it.
The best p2p program is
IMESH version 3.0
I do not recommend 4.0 - it is full of spyware but 3.0 is clean except for newdomain.net-which you can just uninstall. | THIS THREAD HAS EXPIRED.
