Really thinking now of taking off AVG and just leaving AVAST on. Has anyone had personal experience of two antiviruses causing problems instead of helping?

AVG works pretty seamlessly for me. Other than the fact that I can't configure how often it does a full scan, it's perfect. I let it do the scan in the middle of the night, it's done long before I get up...

Hey peck....I looked where you told me to look and there actually IS man's voice on there..it's actually the first two under AVAST when it informs you that your update is done. I don't know if it's sexy enough for you but it's there.

Its ok to have 2 installed, but NEVER have them running in the background at the same time. They will most likely cause conflicts.

Yeah, I guess thats true that you can have two installed at the same time. However you need to disable all the automatic protection options on one off them. You would need to disable the automatic protection, email scanning, document scanning, removal media scans, script blocking, and any other similar options so they don't conflict. Sometimes its pretty hard to do all that and they conflict and consume system resources unnecessarily.

So, the people have spoken...looks like AVG goes....and AVAST stays. Now if I can just figure out how to install Carmen Elektra's voice on there. hmm

If there was a way to use her voice...I'd welcome any viruses just so I can hear it. I also just looked at the size of AVAST and it looks like it's bigger than AVG..Almost twice as much.

Yes, you can only change the time, not the frequency. I used to run my AV scans once a week, once a day is a bit paranoid.

We could all make sound files and send them to you. You make your pick and let us know who has the sexiest male voice on TSG.

Where is Mulder, he must be slipping in his old age.

John Will

I finally nailed it with some research.

Use this line in your Run: box on the scheduler.(This might be different for your loacation of the program files)

C:\PROGRA~1\GRISOFT\AVGFRE~1\avgw.exe /test=Complete Test

I found it here

Hope this helps.
