Wow what a great test you did there.

Yea good thing you killed that worm going out sending who knows what that you don't even know about.

Glad I found out about Rollback RX from reading another forum that only listed it and I did a search to find out what it was and still never heard about it so made this thread asking about it.

Sure sounds like the best there is to have for anyone's PC.

I downloaded the 15 day free trial version of RollBack RX Professional 3 days ago. So far I love it and may buy it. I've use GoBack 3.1 Deluxe for years but lately it has stopped logging due to "massive file changes" which I can't understand the reason for. I completely removed it and reinstalled it. It worked for several hours and then when to "massive....". So I removed it and installed RollBack. I have it take a snapshot at every bootup and I will make a manual snapshot just before installing any new program. I'll probably buy it at the end of my test period. $59 is a little expensive for software but it it works.... it's worth it. My primary backup is Drive Image 7.0. I keep 3 images on my 200GB USD drive and I update the oldest image about once a week. I keep my banking Quicken stuff backed up on my 40GB USB drive any time I change things.

John quick question about using seagate discwizard. I plan on using an hd i have in my old desktop for the laptop's backup utility when the pc is retired (oldest one in the house so it should only have a few more years) Will i be able to execute windows version of discwizard in the bart enviorment? Because i know some programs dont launch in the bartpe enviorment. I know that it will detect the external hd when i boot it. Just dont know if the program will execute in bartpe. It should as it does not use much to clone.

Good idea to have backups because Rollback RX isn't fail proof.

I set mine up to automatically take a snapshot whenever it detects setup.exe or autorun.exe. It works great.

I agree. That's why I had added "My primary backup is Drive Image 7.0. I keep 3 images on my 200GB USD drive and I update the oldest image about once a week. I keep my banking Quicken stuff backed up on my 40GB USB drive any time I change things. "
