Solved: CD Capacity using Nero Express
I've been storing some financial data folders/files on a CD-R using Nero Express. I've configured NE for multi-session (no problem). The files I have already recorded to the CD total about 380MB. I just tried to copy another file (about 25MB) and I get a message saying there's not enough room on the CD. NE says there is 672 MB on the CD. I'm confused and would appreciate some comments. Thank you.

Each time you write another session to a CD, it chews up a bunch of capacity in addition to the size of the data files. If you've written those files in a number of multi-session runs, you probably really are out of space on the CD.

Let me be the first to point out that what you're doing is inherently VERY unreliable. If you're backing up data, you should write to the backup media ONCE, and then never put it in again unless you're recovering the data. I sure hope this is not the only copy you have of those records!

CD Capacity using Nero Express
Thank you JohnWill & Goku for your replies.
JohnWill: I understand your point - yes I have other copies. The CD 'backup' is really more like an archive file. The only time I'd need to use it would be to print some reports after the other copies are legacy (actually I've never needed to).

I didn't realize the amount of space 'chewed up' was that great - probably because of the number of sessions? Thanks again.
