Currently have: CA e-Trust Internet Security Suite 2006 - it has been great - caught many 'problems' - never infected with 'anything' ... so i'm continuing into the 2nd year - here's the question:
since i'm going from the 2006 edition to the new 2007 version, company techs state since it's a totally 'new' program,( not an 'update' ) (but still it's Security-Suite) i must uninstall last year's program (av/firewall/pest patrol/spyware). i cannotleave entire/current program in computer and simply do a 'write' over of the old as the 'new' program installs....i actually have to toally remove the old and install the new via the CD i purchased from them...i'm confused as to 'why' this is necessary (the total uninstall) because the company's directions for the new program state:
1. '' Uninstall any antivirus software other than a previous version of eTrust EZ Antivirus, or CA Anti-Virus; and
2. Uninstall or shut down any existing anti-spyware software running on your computer before you install CA Internet Security Suite.
i'm very curious about this -- thanks in advance for any insight!! edythe
