well for sure you dont need the games, you never NEED a download manager, and many of them are known to bring in spyware\adware\malware not big on apple tech but i beleive mobile device support is for any apple mobile device (iphone ipod remote acsessable laptop) you may want to get another opinion tho, another way to check, is how often the programs are used, if they havent been used since you got the computer, theyr pretty much worthless

Could you tell us what ACDSee is? You can remove all of the javas but the v6 update 2. If you dont need the yahoo toolbar or antispy, dont be afraid to toss that. wd diagnostics, i do not think you need. The gimp is an art program and is safe to remove. Open office is a suite of office programs. If you wanna trade word for it, go ahead. If your fine with just word and do not need other office apps, feel free to remove it. For flash, keep adobe flash and toss the macromedia ones. Adobe ones are the ones that are the latest versions. If you do not need compuserve or msn music assistant, go ahead and toss. If you do not use aim, use the aol uninstaller to remove it.
that is what i see.

Thank you. ACDSee is a picture veiwing program that I use with my pictures. WD diagnostics is the program that came with the external Hard Drive I have that allows you to update the hard drive automatically. What is compuserve and MSN music assistant. I may use them and just not realize it. Is gimp like paint? I sometimes use AIM so I am probably going to keep it. Thanks for all of your help.

There are a massive number of programs(several of them outdated) installed in that computer, and you can uninstall several of them. It's difficult for us to tell you which ones to uninstall because we don't know which ones you use and want to keep.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These programs without a doubt can be uninstalled:

Apple software update

Compuserve

HP share to web

HP software update

JS2E runtime environment 5.0 update 3

JS2E runtime environment 5.0 update 6

(Note: After you uninstall the above 2 old versions of Sun Java, go into the C:\Program Files\Java folder and delete their leftover folders. Do NOT delete the folder for the new version)

Macromedia Flash player 8

(Note: The most current non-beta version is Adobe Flash Player 9.0.47.0)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I see you have Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. Do you really need OpenOffice.org 2.1 too?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 because a growing number of programs require it to run.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Compuserve is probably ISP software, if your ISP is not compuserve, there is no need for its software to be on your system. The gimp is much more advanced than paint. It is something long the lines of probably a mix of photoshop and paint. Up to you on that.

Adobe photoshop album starter edition 3.0

This is a free program for saving and sorting out your photos. If you don't use it, get rid of it.

AIM 6

AOL uninstaller

If you're not using America Online and/or the AOL Instant Messenger chat program, get rid of these.
