Question Need Help Getting To Regular Site ....
Hello ... I have been trying to get to one of my regular sites for weeks but when I tried I get this message....
The connection has timed out

The server at url removed by cookiegal is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Now I know for a fact the site is not down ... today while visiting my mom I tried on her computer and had no trouble ... I have firefox and IE6 .... my mom has IE 6. I've had no problem using firefox or IE to get to this site before ... what's the problem?

Anyone have any idea what I can do to correct this ...

Yes ... I'm using the free version of ZoneAlarm ... I've never had problem with the firewall before ...

Update ... I shut down ZoneAlarm to see if I could get to the site ... no change ... still can't ... I just don't understand it ...

If you have installed any anti-spyware or anti-virus software, the site may have been blacklisted. Check your hosts folder (filepath: C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts NOTE: The hosts file does not have a file extension so just open it in notepad).

Look down the list and check to see if it's there. If it is, it'll probably be pointing to 127.0.0.1 (the local or home host - see my signature ) and you can just delete it.

I would wager a bet you're IP has been banned. In any event, we don't condone what that site is about and since you are already receiving help on at least two other sites for this, I'm going to close this thread.
