Want out of Norton 360 - but to what?
Heya..

I've just installed Norton 360, and am experiencing the whole ccSvcHst.exe problem like was mentioned elsewhere, and its just totally slowing down my system. I want to uninstall Norton 360, but what can I get next as far as AntiVirus software?

I had Norton 2005 forever until recently installing 360 (version 2.0 even) and it was just a waste of money. I should've just renewed with another year of 2005 and got on with my life instead of spending the 10 extra dollars for what looked to be very good to have.

Any ideas?

AVG 8.0 Free + Comodo is great. Also look into Avast for your antivirus.

Can't I just 'uninstall' to get rid of Norton?

Yeah?

What about McAffee? I had it, til I was told to uninstall by this stupid Norton 360 crap.

It always worked before (but I relied on Norton 2005 mostly) tho is it pretty good?

McAffee sucks also.
AVG (Or Avast) and Windows Defender is all most people need.

"PKP": Don't just "uninstall!" Use the uninstaller at the link provided, and be sure to follow directions carefully. Norton is notorious for being hard to uninstall. I saw a Thread on another site where a Symantec techy said to run the 'tool' twice.

Thanks for all the help so far, everyone.

Do I need to run the 'tool' before I 'uninstall' or can I do it afterward and it work just as easy, just to make sure its gone?

The 'tool' is all you should have to use. Don't do a Ws uninstall thru the Control Panel. I would run it twice, as the "techy" I mentioned recommended. Don't see how it could hurt.
