Hi,
These are all freeware and are well regarded here at TSG:
Try.
http://www.undelete-plus.com
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html
http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm
Best not to use Pc as files may be overwritten.
D/load file recovery program to Mem stick etc.

Richard

(with thanks to Blues Harp).

I'll watch this thread with interest... I've never seen a free or commercially available program that could recover files after a format of the drive. Not that I've ever attempted to do so or known anyone who has... That's why I'll watch this thread, I'm always willing to broaden my horizons.

No I can't. I was serious when I said I'm always willing to broaden my horizons. I'm an old guy and I learned long ago I can learn more by simply paying attention to what others experience rather than going through laborious research on my own. But I do have to be convinced new methods and techniques are viable before I implement them on my system. So, as suggested by Danyo, please provide feedback on how you make out.

I'm watching too, 'cos either I'll be in the same situation myself one day or someone else will ask the same question here at TSG & I'll be able to link'em to this thread and its results.
