Talking Solved: Adobe Reader Not updating
I get a 1402 error. I do not have wireless. Also cannot uninstall and reinstall. Blocked!!! Cannot change ownership or unlock to reinstall .

Running FF3 , Vista Home Prem, AVG 8 + firewall.

Having a wireless network connection doesn't have anything to do with Adobe Reader. What were you trying to change ownership of? This shouldn't be necessary to remove Adobe.

What exactly happens when you try to uninstall it? Or reinstall it?

Did you look at Adobe's website for support?

Yeah I mean updating Adobe Reader means nothing anyway. You could Google tyhe newest version and then download and install it if you want a newer version, but it is just a reader and there really is no meaningful change.

Adobe error
error 1402 aborts the uninstall and the install. I am being blocked from all avenues I have tried.

Ran scans- nothing. I have AVG 8/firewall suite. (Same as eweido. Bit defender cannot be run with my AVG suite. They clash badly and turn each other off). It never picks up anything!. What was is not any longer happening with new Adobe Reader update (9.0) which fixed everything. I still go other ghosts doing damage, thought.
