every single time i boot my computer up i get a blue screen and this message, this also happens when i try safe mood and last working point but ended with the same results.

i was thinking of backing up my data and recover the computer but i can't even reach the logon screen. please help

You can pull out the hard drive, install it as a secondary drive in another computer, and copy off any data you need.

It's for Windows 2000 but it would apply to Windows XP as well.

can i partition my drive and put my data on lets say E: and reformat C: drive?

also my computer is a dell laptop inspiron laptop 6400, is there a particular place the hard drive is located at underneath

If you have a utility to repartition the drive then yes you can do that.
