Question Driver Issues
Okay so I WAS running VISTA and for some reason, as I was uninstalling some stupid little toolbar app, it decided to remove a boot sector file and basically died. So I grabbed a new hard drive with XP on it, set that as the main boot drive, and copied all of my stored files to that one, then went back into the original hard drive and formatted it. My intent was to in this manner, save all of my music and whatnot, and then set ,my comp to run XP. Everything WAS going fine except that once I had installed and booted up XP it occured to me that I bought my comp all pre-installed, and as such had no driver discs. So now here I sit, unable to even so much as connect to the internet (I am currently on a friend's comp). As far as I know I need to at least have internet connectivity in order to hunt down all the necessary drivers I need. My system is an HP Pavilion a60009n PC with and AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.01 GHz 896 MB RAM and I am trying to run Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Can someone help me? Where, oh where can I find the drivers I need so that I can burn them to disc (again from a friend's comp) and get my machine back up and running? Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated

stupid drivers!
I did almost exactly the same thing.
Though ive only just realised as i am a novice at these computer things!
realised i had no drivers AFTER i had reinstalled XP and suddenly it occured that all else must have been preinstalled.
i downloaded a monitor driver off the internet which is the correct one....though it wont let me select it. it also means i have to reinstall ALL drivers. woops. i dont really know wat to say other than im in the same boat, and its going to take u ages to get all drivers, mind you, you probably have a much better idea of what your doing than i do. somebody help us out!!!

p.s. i got my drivers from driverguide.com though you have to register (although registration is free you have to go through a stupid process of clicking boxes etc about adverts etc) but all pretty simple and free on there.

well you've got internet connectivity so it shouldn't be too hard. What you probably need are the NVidea chipset drivers which you can get from their site. What you should also try to find is a program called EVEREST Ultimate Edition. It will automatically detect all of your hardware and tell you eaxctly what you have which makes finding the correct drivers MUCH easier.
