Thumbs down Driver Genius Professional Edition
i just got the software Driver Genius Professional Edition and i have updated it using live update it found no new updates

and im hoping that it will update my drivers ive backed everything up fine its just that it wont update it does the scan for critical drivers but about halfway through it gets to apple recover dfu usb driver (for my ipod touch) and it just crashes ive tried several times in admin mode and normally but no luck

please could you help me to remove it or fix this issue

my specs:

OS: Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit
Make/Model/Brand: Hewett-Packard/ SR5501UK/ Presario
Processor: Intel Celeron CPU E1200 1.60GHz
Ram: 1GB
Virtual Memory: 2GB
Virus/Spyware/Malware/Firewall: McAfee

In the dialogue box where you select the driver updates to apply uncheck the box(es) that pertain to your ipod . If all goes well with the other updates you could then try manually downloading the latest driver via your browser .

no it crashes while looking/scaning for updates not when downloading/installing them etc i havnt even got that far yet

Once I have a system setup and working well I never update drivers.... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I would uninstall Driver Genius using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

I must admit I'm more inclined to update drivers manually and only when there's a need but it's a very useful program for backing up your drivers .

In Tools/Drivers Download Manager is there an entry for Apple Recovery DFU ? If so , right-click and remove task . Am not sure if that will solve the problem but worth a try ...
