Solved: Norton Ghost Recovery Disk
I cannot boot up using the Norton Ghost 14 disk. I need to get into the recovery enviroment so I can restore WinXP and other items that can't be done when Windows is running. Can anybody tell me why my system just hangs up when booting from the Norton Ghost disk or a home made recovery disk?

How long are you waiting, as it takes a long time to get into the Recovery Environment.
BTW you can choose restore from within Windows, is it that you cannot get to Windows?

I've waited up to an hour with no luck. When I boot up with the recovery disk I made inside Norton Ghost, it starts out ok showing that it is loading files. When that finishes, a very small copyright "r" with Microsoft comes on with a small retangular box above it with some moving symbols then that goes away and then nothing. The drive light is on and stays on -- no blinking or anything. Anymore suggestions?

Try the restore disk on a working pc to make sure it works and then if yes try a different cd drive is about all you can do. Don't you have the Ghost 14 install cd to try?

I've solved the problem. I've too little memory in the lap top. Thanks for all your replies and help.
