land area calculation
Is there a program, preferrable free, I can use to find the area of irregular objects. At times I must verify the usable area of a piece of property with very irregular borders and/or unusable areas within it. If there is something to show the area of a drawn or scanned shape it would be great. I appreciate any help.

I don't know what business you are in, but perhaps something like this software could help? http://www.smartdraw.com/specials/geography.asp

I don't know of any free software but this is free to try. If it meets your needs you could buy it.

You might also want to try presenting your question to some universities via email, I'm sure they could at least point you in the right direction.

I also found this page, perhaps it could help if you can figure out how to use it. It is specifically for finding the area of an irregular parcel.
