Red face Placing Itunes library on Vista
I have my itunes backed up on a portable hard drive. I had no problem restoring itunes on a XP op system, but I just can not get Vista to put the library into itunes.

what happens

What I have done before with itunes on XP and Vista PCs is
from Itunes I set up preferences - advanced TA
Tick to copy the file to the itunes library
Tick allow itunes to organise files

Then
File
Add folder to library
I thne go off to where ever the backup is and point to that folder to import

That ensures the .itl / .xml files are updated for the database
