Solved: Flash not working properly.
Ive been noticing some strange problems with flash lately. for example, today a friend sent me a link to his blog with a funny video in his blog post. i saw it and wanted to send it to another guy so i went to the main site and tried to load the video and it said i needed flash. so i downloaded the latest flash and went back but it still wouldn't play. but then i went to another site and flash was working fine.

its been acting like this for weeks and I'm fed up i want flash to work on all sites. can you guys help me find out whats up? thanks allot.

My operating system is: Windows XP SP2 OEM. my browser is: Avant Browser version 11.7 build 18. flash is at its most recent version

Go here to get the uninstaller utility for adobe flash player.

After you've run it and allowed it to uninstall whatever version is currently installed, you can then install the new version.

yep all sloved. this is what i had to do:

Quote:
If you are having trouble installing, make sure that your Internet Explorer security level is not set to High or to a custom level that does not allow viewing of ActiveX controls.

A damaged Windows system registry or incorrect permissions in the registry may prevent Flash Player from installing or registering correctly.
Symptoms of a damaged registry or incorrect permissions may include:

Error during Flash Player installation:
'Failed to install. For Troubleshooting please see: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166'
Flash Player installer finishes with no error, but Flash content cannot be viewed in Internet Explorer.
Some sites tell you that you do not have the correct version of Flash Player, even though you just installed the latest version.
Some sites tell you to reinstall Flash Player, but after reinstalling the same message occurs.
Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues that prevent the Flash Player installation. For instruction on how to run SubInACL to fix these permission issues please refer to "Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues that prevent the Flash Player installation" (TechNote fb1634cb).
