Solved: are registry cleaners worth using?
I never have used this type of thing. Is it recommended? And if so, is there a free one which anybody would recommend? Thanks

this is actually only a myth that registry can be cleaned
actually registry contains thousands of entries and hence deleting some entries does not make a any difference of speed on ur pc. In fact it can worsens the matters and hence can destablize windows and other softwares./
u should use registry cleaners only when u want to forcibly rmeobve a program which can not be removed by ordinaryy means.

Thanks. I stumbled upon it when something was churning away in the background. When I googled it, I ended up with this registry cleaner site that said I shd remove it. So I'll uninstall the free version and not fall for the pitch. I knew you tech guys would steer me in the right direction.

Just using a registry cleaner thinking it will improve performance or speed up the system or something like that is pointless and can be dangerous (its like open brain surgery with the patient trying to work while you prod and cut).

I will use CCleaner's registry cleaner if I want to remove all instances of reference to a formerly installed program so that I can get a clean reinstall without chance of hooking back into one of the old registry entries; and that might happen once every two months maybe. Otherwise verbooten!

You can break your registry without using a cleaner if you have masochistic tendancies.

Keep that thought in mind, when one of your infrequently run applications no longer works, or your PC no longer boots.

Registry Cleaners do nothing for performance and have the great potential to cause serious damage.

Yeah but, computer forums would be out of business without them! Everything would be working too good...
