Solved: Regcure
Hi
while looking for a way to open a .VRO file I was directed by Windows search to Paretologic web site and Regcure.
Skimming through what it does it struck me that this did the same things as Registry Mechanic.
Is this a program recommended by Microsoft and will it do anything Registry Mechanic can't?
regards
phil

First, Registry Cleaners perform no useful function and have no (positive) affect on performance.
More importantly they have the strong potential to seriously damage your running environment, and could result in a PC that no longer boots.

Lastly, RegCure is out and out Slimeware. It has been responsible for many PCs that have serious issues or no longer boot. It has probably been responsible for "a ton" of re-installs!

Thanks guys I will keep away from it.
Just one thing. I started off with Windows file associations and as far as I was aware I was following Microsoft links. How did I finish up with Regcure?

phil
Ps. The blues_harp28 link was quite worrying
