Help! _ DOS driver for 500 Gb SATA hard drive

Using WinXP,
my new SATA 500 Gigabyte hard drive works fine.
(after VIA VT6421 driver was installed)
(using a PCI Plug-In card for this SATA drive)

and

Using DOS, my SATA hard drive is invisible.
(no such drive letters)

Questions:

1.
How to fix this situation?
(So DOS "sees" the SATA hard disk)
What DOS driver would fix this?
What web page?
What other workarounds?
etc...

2.
For this DOS driver for SATA,
What switches in CONFIG.SYS ?
What switches in AUTOEXEC.BAT ?
etc...
