This has been going on for a few weeks now; I've, at different times, been obsessed with UpperFilters (which fixed something), downloading driver update software (useless) and uninstalled/reinstalled all manner of programmes too many times I can care to remember (waste of time).
But I still have this problem:
When selecting a playlist to burn to CD, itunes sets the CD up as it should do (or maybe not) and then burning begins. I get very happy, until a few seconds later when an error code pops up, usually 4900, but sometimes slightly different.
I am going to kill myself or someone else quite soon if I can't fix it, vast amounts of Google time have helped not so much, and so I'm hoping big brains on this forum will help...

UpperFilters: GEARAspiWDM (2.1.0.0),
F: MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-852S, Rev 1.80
Drive is empty.
Force Optical Power Calibration before burn is turned on in the preferences.
The last failed audio CD burn had error code 4900(0x00001324). It happened on drive F: MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-852S on CDR media at speed 8X.
Drive is empty because I've used up all the goddamn CDs.
I did add the UpperFilters: GEARAspiWDM (2.1.0.0), through regedit etc, do I need to change this? Is this a driver problem, software problem, has something nasty crawled into my beautiful laptop and chewed its beautiful wires?
