How did you get the file from the receiver to the flash drive? Generally, DVR recordings are encrypted. I don't know of any provider, aside from Tivo, that allows recordings to be played on any device other than the DVR. Have you talked to your provider about portability options for recordings?

The receiver already has a Pvr integrated in it and allows you to record the shows to the USb and view it later or w/e and the provider doesn't help you. And i was just wondering how would i go 2 able to view these on my computer?

If the provider supports viewing recorded shows on devices other than the DVR, they would certainly help you. The fact that they won't help means they only support watching shows on that device.
