Angry DVD converting/burning problems
I used ConvertXtoDvd3 to convert my movies files to dvd, then used DVD Shrink 3.2 so they would fit onto my dvd+r 16x blank dvds. They do work, but not fully.. I get about 70% of the movie completely watchable, and then it just stops and the chapters menu comes up. I've had this new HP computer since December and have been trying to burn dvds since but keep having problems, it's driving me nuts. Any help?

I did use dvd Shrink to burn, and that's the best result I've gotten thus far (getting about 70% of the film watchable), but I have tried other burning software including Nero and got "disc error" when I tried to watch them. I'm seeing that I must need to use 3-4 programs in order to make this process work, I just don't know the right ones, what order to use them in, etc.

actually, to clarify, I only got "disc errors" when I burned without shrinking.... so is it possible that I need to convert with one program, then shrink, then burn with another?

hahaha, unfortunately yes, you do get software where you can shrink and burn at once, but from my personal experience that was never 100% efficient.

so if the converting program is working for you, keep it, if dvd shrink is working for you, keep it as well (i use it as well), but try to use other burning software, dvd shrink doesn't burn correctly, don't know why, just one aspect that's totaly messed up. try your nero! i use clonedvd 2, old program, but doing the job just perfectly. there's some other quality burning software out there as well.

Ah ok, I'm trying to burn with Nero right now, on files I already converted and shrunk. So we'll see if this works.. I've wasted about 20 dvds trying to figure this out, so I hope it works this time. Thanks for your help - pray for me.

It worked! Man, you'd think with our tech advances we wouldn't need 3 progs to do this, huh? Thanks again.
