Solved: Icon problem

After updating from Firefox 3.0.10 to Firefox 3.5 I found I had FIVE Mozilla Firefox icons on my desktop! (plus the usual smaller one on the taskbar). 2 of these I got rid of by dragging and dropping into the recycle bin, but the other 3 refuse to go either by drag/drop or right click/delete, each time getting the message "Cannot delete file. Cannot read from the source file or disk." How do I get rid of the little rascals? Thanks.
