Solved: MP3 Issue
Hey guys.

Here is my issue.

I can't play MP3 files on my computer. Not on Windows Media Player, not on Musicmatch Jukebox, not on anything.

Now, I can play videos without any issues. All formats are good.

When I go to play the songs, they start to play but no sound comes out and when I try to stop the song, the player I'm playing the song on freezes up and becomes unresponsive.

I've tried everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling all my music players. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling my sound card, but that didn't do it.

I'm at the point where I'm gonna format my hard drive, but that is the absolute last resort.

If any of you ladies and gentlemen can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

If you need more info, let me know.

Thanks very much.

Options then file types in Windows media player and see if mp3 is ticked, or any other file you want to play

It is ticked.

Besides, it should play regardless. That's just being the default player for the file types.

I also cannot play YouTube videos, either. When I try to play in either Firefox or IE, they freeze up, too. I can X out, but I have to restart to get either browser back up.

Well, I've figured it out, sort of.

Any Microsoft sound works. My Text-to-Speech portion of a program I use works.

No music files work. No other sound file works.

The sound appears in movies I have on my computer. But not in music files.
