Go to Start, Run
Type in msconfig and hit Enter
Go to the Startup tab
Uncheck the following:

[Dell QuickSet] C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe
[SigmatelSysTrayApp] stsystra.exe
[SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe"
[igfxtray] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe
[igfxpers] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe
[Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"
[AppleSyncNotifier] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleSyncNotifier.exe
[ArcSoft Connection Service] C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Connection Service\Bin\ACDaemon.exe
[QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
[Skype] "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /nosplash /minimized
PHOTOfunSTUDIO -viewer-.lnk = C:\Program Files\Panasonic\PHOTOfunSTUDIO -viewer-\PhAutoRun.exe

After you've unchecked them, click Apply then OK
then OK again and reboot.

When Windows reboots, it will tell you that you are in Selective Startup (this is normal)
Just click on the box to not remind you again

Okay well, you have plenty of memory and not that many programs running at Startup anymore.

How full is the hard drive?
