Access navigation limitations on specific websites
I have a Toshiba M35x laptop, 512k Ram, XP, plenty of memory...normally on IE but use Firefox when there is a problem...wireless with dynex wireless enhancedG.
Problem: Interminent access to ebay with error message http 400, when I do get in, I log in, then try to navigate and get the error message. Also noticed that it doesn't fully load the front page, icons spinning, then says its done.
Some other websites that were fine now I cannot navigate smoothly and get the same error message.
Tried the following: powercycling the modem/router, checked for blocked websites - none, tried Firefox - same result, ran anti-virus - none, ran spamware - cleared, Ccleaner which cleans out temp files, etc...
Tried with a Mac on same router/modem/service and it works fine.
What is the deal?

Originally ran AVG free version, then Hijack This, then Adware latest version, then Superantispy, Ccleaner.

http://spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Follow the above link and see how many adaware/adware programs are suspect .

http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-...e_personal.php If it is this one you have used , updated , It is OK

Please be more specific AVG 9 ? When you ran Hijack This did you " fix" anything ,

When you ran CCleaner did you go to the registry page and untick ALL on that page ?

Let us know so we are able to help solve your problem .

Yes, I have the Ad-Aware SE, however when I ran the the superantispyware it showed stuff related to Ad Aware and removed them and when I attempt to update the adaware program it says there is an error (says it has not been updated in 210 days). I went to the adaware link you sent and clicked on download, thinking I would download the fully updated version but it would not load and I had a blank white screen.

the AVG is 8.5

Hi Jackthis is a tool for experienced malware techs . Only use it under the guidance of an experienced tech . On this forum it is someone that has a shield beside the name .

Do not " Fix " anything after a Hijack This scan just because it has been done with someone elses computer , A tech skilled in analyzing a Hijackthis scan is looking at the whole picture . Most of what you see is necessary to operating your computer .

Read here about Hijack this ---- http://forums.techguy.org/malware-re...es-effect.html

I just ran malware bytes full scan and had one infection of a registry key apparently not serious.
I ran Hijack This long after the problem persisted and it didn't show anything
another symptom is I type www.linkedin.com into the browser and it won't acknowledge it and goes back to the existing page...also from an email received from linkedin I clicked on a link and it just hung and actually disconnected me from my wirless connection...
