Network Controller Problem needs Driver!
hi, i have a network controller problem and i dont know how to fix it. when i try to connect to the internet it says that the adapter is not connected that i didnt install or configure the corect driver. The antenna at the back of the CPU is connected but it can't detect net connection even of the router has connection in it.

reason the problem happened. I unplugged the antenna at tha back of the CPU and after i returned it can connect no more to the internet. it's asking me driver for the network controller. This is really frustrating hope someone could help me thanks alot.

Unit: Aspire M1640, Windows Vista, Router Linksys: Zyxel Prestige!

Sounds like you have dislodged the unt somehow .....

{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here

TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
{Device Manager}
Post back the results in device manager
Start > control Panel {Vista set to classic view}> system > {Vista, device manager on left hand side} {XP hardware Tab, device manager button} > network adaptors, click on the + > post back the devices listed there
are there any ! ? or X

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

the wireless LAN appears to have an IP OK

we need to get those drivers all sorted (but that maybe for the cable network LAN)
Make and model of PC - if self built, motherboard or LAN module installed

but in the meantime can you try this
same place you did the ipconfig /all
type
Ping 192.168.1.1
wait for the reply to finish

Ping google.com
wait for the reply to finish

Ping 74.125.45.100
wait for the reply to finish

Post allthe results back here

Thanks again for the reply boss,

These are the results of the requested “Pings” but this time I installed a USB adapter to connect to the internet for the meantime and it worked but the thing is in the Device Manager the Network Controller isn’t there yet (mark with “?” and “!”).And now I’m assuming that the Antenna at the back of my CPU is busted but how could that be possible all that I had done was unplugged it and returned it at the same manner for only in a span of 2mins. This is weird man.

i wouldgo onto the PC manufacturers website and look for the netwrok drivers and download & install to fix that ? issue
not sure if you have firewire on the PC

- the chances are you may have damaged the wireless aerial as it appears to be Ok with the adapter
