6.14.10.510
1/24/2005

I also right clicked the date to call up Say The Time and hit exit. It did not make a difference in the audio. I was not able to find it in the Add/Remove program list to get rid of it altogether. I also unchecked it in the start up box.

Your computer is a laptop, so it's possible the built-in speaker system may be having a hardware problem.

Here is the download link for version 6.14.10.595, dated 12-28-2006.

Download and save it, close all open windows, then double-click it to install it. Restart afterwards, whether you're prompted to or not.

Go back into the Conexant AC-Link Audio driver tab and see if the new driver version is listed.

(6.14.10.670 is for the 64-bit version of XP, so it won't install and work for you)

I downloaded the sp34567.exe application but it would not complete installation.

A box popped up and it said:

Driver Installation Failed Could not find Media device for this driver

I am able to play videos that are saved onto my hard drive, but am unable to play with clear audio from the DVD/CD drive.

OK, we tried. I don't know how else to resolve the audio problem without having a "hands on" with that computer.

My drive will play a slide show with music fine but not DVD's. Maybe there's something wrong with the hardware.

Thanks Flavallee. What does Flavallee mean anyway?
