Timex DataLink SW & Windows 7
I installed the Timex Datalink USB 1.3.1 software and used it to set the time in my watch. But I seem to be having trouble running the software on this PC.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit), Office 2007 Ultimate, Internet Explorer 8, AVG 9.0 Free antivirus, and Hauppauge WinTV 7 on this PC. The computer is two weeks old so doesn’t have much other software yet.

Within about 15 minutes after installing the Datalink software I began getting “Internet Explorer has stopped working” errors. This occurred about 15-20 times over a one day period (even though the Datalink software wasn’t running). Windows Event Viewer shows “iexplore.exe” crashing with faulting modules “avgssie.dll” (most frequent) and “ntdll.dll” (less frequent).

Uninstalling the Datalink USB software resolved the above issue.

Looking for ideas.
