Complex Scripts problems in Word 2003
I'm running Office 2003 with Windows XP. I'm working on a project that requires input in polytonic Greek and in Church Slavonic. I hardly ever use Times New Roman, and for this project I use primarily Palatino Linotype, which has polytonic Greek and old-orthography Cyrillic (I have to use other fonts for Slavonic but the old-orth. Cyrillic helps), neither available on TNR.

I have Palatino Linotype as the default font, but there is also a "complex scripts" font, which for some reason Word wants to invoke whenever I go to Greek or to Cyrillic, and for this there is only a limited menu, not including PL. So I find the blasted TNR constantly intruding into my work.

Is there any way to appoint a font of my choice for "complex scripts"? None of those on Word's "complex scripts" menu is appropriate to the present project.

Also, when I do attempt to enter text in Arabic, the Arabic font I want to use is not on the list, and if I assign one of the two or three Arabic fonts on the menu, Word keeps switching it back to TNR.

At this point, I would be willing to uninstall TNR altogether, but I suspect that Word would only select another font from its own short list and bedevil me with that.

Any suggestions?
