One of my friends I game with uses ventrilo with me to communicate, but we have this problem. Fairly often he won't hear any of my messages for a few minutes and when he does hear them, he will receive all of the messages at once. (Example: Hi - *10 seconds later* How's it going? - *10 seconds later* Can you hear me? - and then after a few minutes he will hear in one sentence "Hi How's it going Can you hear me?) After he hears me messages we can talk to each other for another few minutes without message delay but then it'll happen again.

Usually when either of us disconnect from the vent server and come back on it will fix the problem for a bit, but the odd time it won't and we have to wait the few minutes. It is usually always him that can't hear me. I can usually always hear him without delays. Is it something between our internet connection or does anyone have the slightest clue?

Here's a few facts to help:

-It's usually always him that can't hear ME, so after a few minutes he gets all my messages at once
-This only happens between us, every other person I've talked to on vent it works normally
-It doesn't matter what vent server we use, it will always happen between us (I even have my own vent server running from my computer and we still get the problem just as often)
-I use windows 7 but I've had this problem while using vista as well

So basically I have no idea, hoping you guys can help me out or at least point me in the right direction. Anything else you need to know just ask and I'll try to respond asap. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to solve mine as well. Mine happens only in the game, otherwise its okay.

I get a 30 second lag, which is hell when we're in a match.

Just tried dropping some services, so will see what that's like today, as I have an interview in a bit so couldn't test it last night.

This actually sounds like you have the lag, not him. The reason I say this, is that I can say something, no reply. Can you hear me, no reply.

Then, 30 seconds later, they all get the wording.


So, do you have any antivirus/firewall programs running when you're using vent, and if so, which?

But, I wouldn't advise it yet, as it may have problems elsewhere. I'll have a play with this if nothing else works.

btw, which game are you playing? I'm on Battlefield 2 and its a recent thing that's happened, as it was fine before.
