java wont load
I am having an issue with java. I installed it, tested it and it said it is there, but when I go to pogo games, the game loading window wont open and I get a message that java isnt working and/or is not installed. When I check for it, it says its working correctly. Its been a circle for me for 2 days. Can you help? Also, the java icon cup has a "sheild" icon on it. Havent seen that before either.

thanks
Lmat

Open the java control panel and on the Advanced tab, under 'Default Java for Browsers' make sure your browser is listed and ticked.

Check that the CLASSPATH env. variable is set to a valid path (open a command prompt and type SET and Enter to view variables):
CLASSPATH=.;C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext\QTJava.zip

Open IE and clock on Tools, Manage ADd ons and make sure the following plugins are enabled:
Java(tm) Plug in 2 SSV Help
JQSIIEStartDectectorImpl Class

Visit this page to test the the plug-in is working with your browser:

java problem
I cant find a java control panel.
I checked IE and found the following:
is Installed Class-enabled
Java(tm) Plug-In 2 ssv-enabled
Java Plug-In 1.6.0_17 enabled (this is in there twice)

I have a feeling that when I download Java, it isnt finishing for some reason.
Please be aware that I am not a computer jock by no means so please be patient with me.

thanks

The java control panel can be be loaded, via Run, and enter Control Javacpl.cpl then Enter.
To remove old or all versions of java, use JavaRa: http://raproducts.org/

Also, I find the using the offline version (the full download) works better than the online version when installing Java.

1. Uninstall all current versions of java in that computer.

2. Restart.

3. Go into the C:\Program Files\Java folder and delete any leftover folders.

4. Install version 1.6.0.17(6 Update 17).

5. Restart again.
