CCleaner or not?
Hi Folks,

I was using CCleaner and all seemed to be OK. Then I was told it conflicted with many spyware and virus detectors and I should not use CCleaner. I would like some feedback pro or con as to using CCleaner. I really like the way it cleans all of one's temp files and browser usage so well and so fast.

Thanks for your feedback, Richard

Hi Richard,
I've not heard of Ccleaner conflicting. I use it (different machines) with ZoneAlarm, AVG, Comodo & Avast.
Where did you here about these 'conficts'? Is there a link you could post for others to see and evaluate - I'm not that tech savvy but others will be.

(another) Richard.

Ccleaner is a good utility to clean temp files and MRU's, I've never heard of it conflicting with any software.

But stay away from the registry cleaning section. Many registry cleaners have the potential to damage your system.

I have used ccleaner for a couple of years now. no problems, however, I have disabled the regedit in it. Try to stay away from any registry cleaners.

No trouble here as well . As suggested just go to the REGISTRY page and untick ALL on tha page and go back to the Cleaner page to use the defaut settings .. It would seem nobody here has run across conflicting reports .

You did the right thing though -- If in doubt Check it out .

I use the file cleaner option in ccleaner frequently and have never experienced any problems.
But I never use the registry option.
