Microsoft Photo Draw
I have used this programme for a number of years. Due to 'something' (?) it just stopped working! I was unable to save anything with a name longer than a single character. I have tried to reinstall many times but although i'm told that the 'setup' is ok, but then when i run it i get an error that 'it has encounterred a problem' and must close. I have tried uninstalling, repairing, uninstalling with Revo uninstaller, and it just won't work. Can any one point me in the right direction to get this nice easy to use programme back on line again?

If anyone is usung this can they answer two questions?
First; what is the difference loading it from disk two or disk three
Second; Can someone please advise me where to install it to because i think i have the wrong path.

following on to the above.......
Well i have managed to reinstall it and all seems to wok well, apart from.........
I still cannot save a file, in any format, with a name longer that ONE character. Has anybody suffered from the same or worked around it?

thanks

miles

No idea on the one character limit but since you've uninstalled and reinstalled and the behavior persists and you don't indicate anything else is out of sorts system-wide, I would have to postulate that the problem lies somewhere in the user account settings in general or specifically for that program. Unless you've tried it from a new user account and get the same results, in which case I really don't have a clue.

Well, brief and to the point, and still neither do I! It seems rather strange 'cos this sort of just started to happen! Thanks for your interest and i very much hope that the 'answer is out there somewhere'.

Did your problem start before or after the last MS critical updates?
If after, perhaps it's associated with an update? ( just guessing )

I'm aware the problem can exist for older apps, but never had to deal with it.
Updates can be uninstalled.
Perhaps someone here with more experience with updates that conflict, can help.

Thanks. Unfortunately I think it was a batch of updates so i have no idea as to the probable cause. I'll just sit here and wait in the hope that someone out there has overcome before!

thanks again
