cannot resize thunderbird window, oversized
I have a Dell desktop computer, 4700 series. the operating system is XP. It's about 5 years old. My internet explorer and other programs is working fine, slow, but ok.
My problem is Mozilla Thunderbird. When I open it, the window is very oversized. I can only see about 1/4 of it.
I can not read my mail. I have tried to reduce it, by grabing the lower left corner and turning it into the double arrow, but no luck, it won't work with the page, only the tray.
I'm very frustrated to say the least.
Any suggestions? Thank You, Wanda

Have you tried starting Thunderbird in safe mode? Safe Mode is a debugging startup mode where all added extensions are disabled, the default theme is used. Could be an extension or theme causing problems.

There is a way using the "F8" key at startup. However, I believe the procedure outlined at the link below will be easier for you.

After you are in safe mode (The screen will display much differently.), you can use the usual method for opening Thunderbird.

You need to try running Thunderbird in safe mode from the programs list, not windows safe mode.
There should be a shortcut in your All Programs> Mozilla Thunderbird> Mozilla Thunderbird (Safe Mode).
Be sure that Thunderbird is closed before you run in this safe mode.

Wanda: You can find Tbird (safe mode) and the uninstaller by: Start>Search>Thunderbird. That will bring up all the entries on your system for Tbird. There is a folder in the ensuing list for "safe mode."

At the top open the "Moz Tbird" folder. Then open the "Uninstall" folder. Then dbl click on "Helper.exe. That should automatically bring up the uninstall wizard. At least it did for me.
