Secunia Inspector error?
after running the scan it reports that Macromedia flash is an old version which needs updating yet it also declares Adobe Flashplayer up to date which indeed it is!

seeing that they are one of the same it appears this programme can't be deemed 100% accurate.

Uninstall Macromedia flash if you have the updated version of Adobe flash.

I have now but to test my theory I allowed it to allegedly update Macromedia which it did but after further scans it still said it was an old version which in turn leads me to believe I shouldn't believe what it says

Since Adobe now owns Macromedia maybe it confused the names.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Software and driver scanners are inaccurate and worthless.

I've had doubts about Secunia for some time, I'll give it a miss from now on

I vaguely remember using that prog once but had issues with it, sometimes it wouldn't update the programmes

My scanners show needed updates for some rarely used programs and I just ignore them.
Not everything has to be updated immediately or even sometimes... ever. Why update
apps I use infrequently. I have FF bugging me as I type this but I may or not update it now.

not all programmes auto update yet some are important which is why I like the idea of scanning for updates to save checking individually

I don't allow any program(except for AVG9) to auto-update or scan for updates. I have 4 sites that I check almost every day for new updates. I like having complete control over what gets updated.

Check this site about once a week, and you'll keep up with SJRE updates.
