Software will not start
The software was working about 6 months ago. I am using XP. The old machine, which it works on now is an ME. I just talked to the Gateway support and they couldn't help either. It is a mystery. Thanks for trying.

My problems are compounding. I couldn't answer your last message, Dave, because now IE is closing down every 2 seconds. I don't even have time to scroll down to the message before it closes me down. I don't know if the problems are related. But, I switched to Firefox ,In answer to the last message. I have had the software working on this current machine and It was about 6 months ago. I am on a Gateway, Windows XP and I think 32-bit with IE8 I just paid for fee-based help but that didn't work either. Thanks for your interest. Is it hopeless?

Sounds like you have major issues with your machine. Time to back up all of your data and get it protected.
You may be in for a "rebuild" of it, but maybe one of the "Malware" team members will chime in here.

Please click here to download and install the HijackThis installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

Do not fix anything

About the software not opening. It is still a major problem but I had the idea to partition the hard disk in the hope of having a clean start. Does anyone know if this will cause a bigger problem or how to do it or where some good advice on how to do it is.

Partitioning will not solve any problems all it does is make another drive, and you problems stay put on the original drive.

Thanks DaveA. Do you think getting an external hard drive and loading the program on that would work?

No, it will not, and a external drive should NOT be used for programs, as one can not guarantee that the drive letter will ALWAYS be the same and other problems.

I am going to update the topic by saying that I took the computer to a reputable repair shop here in town and they couldn't fix it either. They said something about the problem being buried and I believe it. Thanks everyone for trying to help. But, now I have another problem which I am going to post in another forum.
