Software will not start
I have an embroidery program Bernina Artista that I used for many years but not for the last 6 months or so. Now, when I try to open it, nothing happens. I thought I might have to reinstall it and put the disc in but nothing happens there either. I am running XP. I did a virus check. Nothing found there. It is very important that I get that to run again and hope someone has an idea about what went wrong.

Does this version required a dongle?

What version is it?

Yes, and the dongle is in place. When I go to Programs and click on Bernina, then Artista, an hourglass appears, then disappears. I put the set-up disk in and it wouldn't respond to that either so I tried the disk in another computer and that worked there. But I need the computer that is with the sewing machine to work.

Just a thought: when putting in your CD, you're saying nothing happens. Could AutoPlay be disabled? What if you try running the setup.exe file after going manually into your CD's location (CD/DVD drive letter) from My Computer?

It appears that you may be infected.

Thank you, Yes, I tried that. It still won't open. I have a feeling that there is some kind of corruption in the .bin files but I don't have a clue about how to fix that.

Are you having problems with any other installs on your computer?

What is your operating system?

If the program is still on your computer, try the free Revo Uninstaller to remove it thoroughly. Then, reinstall it.

software non start
Thank you. I did uninstall the Artista program and re installed it but it is acting very strange. I can't see it at all and when I decided to reboot, the message came that Artista had to end. It looks like artista is running behind the desktop. So the uninstall/reinstall didn't work at all. I tried System Restore but it never could do anything even though I tried several checkpoints. That never has worked for me. Should I do System Recovery?

Have you tried Revo?

System restore will only restore system files not program files.

System recover will wipe your machine clean and restore to Factory settings when you first got the machine. You will loose ALL data and programs that you have installed.

software won't start
I haven't tried Revo but I will. I have the feeling that the problem lies within the windows system because when I installed it on my old computer it worked fine. Wouldn't that mean that there is something, maybe a driver that is corrupted in windows? Thanks for the help and now I will try Revo.

Software won't start
I tried the Revo and got rid of all the Artista segments hanging on. I reinstalled Artista and held my breath to see if it would start. What happened was, it looked like it was going to start screen went black and then came back with the desktop discolored. It is almost as if Artista is running behind the desktop. When I click to reboot the message comes on that Artista is closing and I will lose information etc. Does anyone have a clue about this strange behavior??Please. I need to use the embroidery machine and I can't unless the software is working. Bernina will not help.

You keep saying something about your old computer, have you ever had this program working on the current machine?

Tell us more about this current machine, make, model, OS, 32 bit or 64 bit and etc?
