I have an old Dell desktop Windows Xp and a new Compaq laptop (details are above). Is it possible to transfer from the Dell to the Compaq the following: my Google "Favorites" and my Yahoo "Favorites" addresses. Also I have a program in the Dell named "Worpad" which I would like to use on the Compaq. How can I transfer this software? I hope there is nothing illegal in these questions. Thank you

Yes, just copy the different Favorites to a USB drive and then copy the to the same folder on the laptop.
As for Worpad, a Google finds several different entries, could you provide more info on this product?

Dear DaveA
Thank you for the Favorites.
As for the "Wordpad" it allows me to write memos and letters very simply. It is a software which came with the Dell desktop.

No, Wordpad and Notepad are two different programs.

Notepad is a simple text editor and Wordpad has some more advanced features.

cendrillon,

In you orginal post you used the term "Worpad", and there is several programs out called WORPAD.

So now, you are using the term "WORDPAD" if this is correct, it is part of the Windows package as stated above by others.

To access Wordpad in Windows 7 click the Start Orb, All Programs, Accessories. There you will find Wordpad. You can open it there, or right click to create a shortcut or pin it to the Taskbar or Start Menu.

Thank you so much to you and everyone else, Frank4d, Squashman, Stanley, who solved my problem. I found Wordpad in Accessories. My apologies also for mispelling the first time.
