Can't compress that with zip softaware. Your only option would be to open the pdf with Acrobat Pro and optimize the file.

Thanks for the prompt answer. I have Acrobat 9. I don't know it well... What is the path to optimization?

best, Frank

Many files are already compressed as much as they can be. Music files, for example, are compressed by codecs (compressor/decompressor). Some files will actually be larger if archived as zip or rar.

The best compression you can get (in practical terms, where the process can be done in a reasonable time) is probably sqx. A free sqx archiver is available. I use sqx most often and rar second most.

I only have Acrobat 6 Professional at home. From the file menu there is an option to reduce the File Size.

Here are some other links I found using Google.

While I do enjoy eating Acorn Squash baked in brown sugar and butter and I also enjoy eating zucchini baked in Cream Cheese and Butter, my Nickname (Squash) that was given to me as a very young child had nothing to do with either of those vegetables or vegetables at all. It just rhymes with my first name.
