Solved: Phrase Express
Hi Guys

I love Phrase Express. but for some reason it keeps dissapearing from my desktop (and the program also disappears). I have downloaded it twice and then use it for a day or so - then it vanishes.
Any ideas?

PhraseExpress uses a link in your "Startup" folder to get it going for each start up of your desktop. When you install PhraseExpress you may not have selected the option to have the entry in your Startup folder.

See if your Startup folder (click Start>All Programs>Startup) and see if it is there.
If it is not there you can either re-install the program again, and watch for the option,
OR
create a link of the "phraseexpress.exe" file and put it in your Startup folder.

Thanks Chuck

That worked - I downloaded Phrase Exporess again and the .exe file is now in the startup filder. I hope it stays there.

Well, you didn't do what I said. I said you should have a link to the .exe in the Startup folder, NOT the actual.exe. What you have done may seem to work, but if there are any support files that have to be with the.exe, then you are going to have problems.

ChuckE
This is what is now in the startup folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\PhraseExpress\phraseexpress.exe"

Isn't that a link?

If it is something pointing to an .exe in another location then it sounds like it is a link (or shortcut). But you are at the computer, you should be able to tell us what it is. What did you create?

There are multiple ways of creating a link. One of the easiest ways I do it is just go to the program's install folder, and right-click the .exe file. I then just right-drag it out to the desktop. When you let the right mouse button go you will see a selection for making a shortcut. Do that. Then just put the created shortcut icon into your desired location. In this case that would be the Startup folder. Done.
