Solved: Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file.
I was trying to open 3 .wav files do I need to actually pay for .wav program or does Windows 7 have it and just not reading? None of the players installed would give me anything but all work otherwise.

No you shouldn't have to pay for anything. .Wav files are set to default to Windows Media Player on my Windows 7 machine.

They play in other programs except WMP? Just that program gives you the error?

I am applying for medical transcription jobs at home and went to listen to the 3 files that were downloaded and got the error. I have checked speakers and they are fine, can listen to other stuff so know the sound board is working, and I have taken one other transcription test and it worked fine...should I just contact the company the test came from and say thanks but no thanks can't get the sound to work on their tests?

Do you have any other program on your system that we could test the wavs on?
