HYUK and Greetings!
Noob here. I am a relatively old guy (57)who found your site while perusing another site and you were recommended. (believe it was Merjin) I have been a member of couple of malware forums for quite a while and was looking for a place that was a bit more light hearted while still being business like concerning problems that I or others had with their machines. So, I have spent a couple days going over the many posts and responses here and was impressed in the manner with which this site is conducted. Kudos to the manner in which you have organized and conduct this site. I already feel comfortable.

My username (DLG29) is the type of ship I was on when serving in the Navy during the Vietnam war. That ship had the NTDS (Naval Tactical Data System) as its primary radar display computer system. It used Univac computers. You know, the ones that were as large as refrigerators but had no ice makers. There were 8 of them to do the same thing as my Sony Vaio desktop. That is my first experience with computers though I was a radarman and not a computer tech. I merely used and input data thru my radar console and the Univacs did the rest. They were very efficient with little down time.

Just wanted to introduce myself and bore you with a bit of history. Will be posting soon to get a few questions answered. Looking forward to a long stay here. Thank You for being available to myself and all the myriad others that fight the good fight while using BG's products.

Welcome to TSG! I was also in the Navy on the ShangraLa, CVA38. Of course, I ran Special Services, no real work was involved!

I'll move your post over to announcements, since that's probably the proper place for it.

And thank you all! I've already learned more obvious stuff than I have since I was 3. That's when I learned one should throw a firecracker after one lights it.

I feel honored to meet so many x-Nav personnel. Upon which ship or station did you sail the 7 -or less- seas? DLG-29 was a guided missile frigate (USS Jouett). Did 2 tours to the Gulf of Tonkin on her between '69 and '72. Stationed: San Diego.
